Dr. Aziz Boulesbaa<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Dr. Boulesbaa completed his Master’s Degree in Theoretical Physics with honors from the University of Science and Technology in Algiers, Algeria and a Master’s Degree in Lasers & Metrology from the Galilee Institute in Paris, France. While attending the Galilee Institute Dr. Boulesbaa completed his thesis research with the Commissariat \u00e0 l’\u00c9nergie Atomique<\/em>(CEA<\/em>).<\/p>

During Dr. Boulesbaa’s Ph.D. studies at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, he investigated the ultrafast exciton dynamics in semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), and the separation of photogenerated excitons, including multiple excitons, at the interface of QDs\/molecular adsorbates.<\/p>

At Temple University he investigated ultrafast vibrational dynamics at the solid\/aqueous interface. Based on technology developed in the Borguet research group, he generated some of the shortest mid-infrared pulses in the world (~25 fs) allowing him to probe the vibrational dynamics of hydrogen bonding in interfacial water. In 2013 Dr. Boulesbaa defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic of “Ultrafast vibrational dynamics at the solid\/water interface”. Dr. Boulesbaa joined the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he used and developed cutting-edge instrumentation to investigate the dynamics of electric charges and energy transport at the interface of 2D-materials and molecular adsorbates.<\/p>

In 2017 , Dr. Boulesbaa joined the faculty of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry California State University, Northridge (www.sites.google.com\/view\/boulesbaa<\/a>)<\/p>
