Xiaoting Hong<\/span><\/p>

Before joining the Borguet Group in December 2009, I was a Postdoc at Texas A&M University. I worked on the synthesis of visible light-responsive iodine-doped titania single-crystal nanostructure and EELS elemental mapping of the dopant, AFM tribology measurements of the silica microsphere on silane functionalized silica nanoparticle films and dynamic surface morphology of NIPAM\/silica nanocomposite in different electrolyte solutions.<\/p>

I obtained my Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Louisville where my research focused on investigating the colloidal stabilization mechanism of Nanoparticle Haloing in terms of surface forces by AFM colloidal probe techniques in nanoparticle suspensions.<\/p>

Before I came to the United States I studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. My research projects included synthesis and characterization of visible-light activated titania nanoparticle and titania\/ferrate co oxidation system.<\/p>

My research in the Borguet Group was to develop efficient metal oxides coating for surface acoustic wave humidity sensor.<\/p>

In Fall 2012, Dr. Hong accepted a faculty position in the School of Chemistry and Environmental at South China Normal University (Guangzhou). His main research fields are Catalytic Materials, Photoelectrocatalysis, Photoanode, Electrocatalysis, and Surface Chemistry.<\/p>
