Dr. Doug Hausner<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

Dr. Douglas Hausner is a native of Philadelphia who graduated from Temple with his Ph.D. in the spring of 2009 from the laboratory of Daniel Strongin. He is currently a visiting assistant professor at Rutgers Camden where he teaches physical and analytical chemistry as well as instrumental analysis. He has a strong background in surface science-related research. He attended the University of Delaware as an undergraduate where he worked in the research group of Thomas Beebe. His graduate research focused upon understanding surface processes on naturally occurring environmentally relevant nanominerals. Dr. Hausner has research interests centered on investigating physical processes occurring on and within nanomaterials using advanced microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. Within the Borguet group, he worked on projects involving the development of chemical sensors.<\/p>

In addition to his scholarly activities, Doug is actively involved in the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Younger Chemists Committee (YCC). He organized the annual poster session held at Temple for the Philadelphia section of the ACS and is chair of the local YCC section. In addition, he serves on the Government Interface and Outreach committee for the YCC on the national level. Doug\u2019s other passions in life, somewhat ancillary to chemistry, include photography and aquariums.<\/p>
