We have improved the capability of our optics group by installing high power femtosecond laser (Integra-E) and a commercial Optical Parametric Amplifier (OPA). The Integra-E from Quantronix delivers 3.5mJ at 1 kHz. The TOPAS produces Signal(S)+Idler(I) in the range of 1.1-2.6um with peak  at 1.5μm having 900mW power. S-I Difference Frequency Generation (DFG) produces mid-IR pulses ranging from 2.7-15um with peak energy at 3.4um having 40uJ .

Group move from Univ. of Pittsburgh to Temple, Philadelphia.

Birth Announcement (Yangjun and Xue).
Graduate students, Yangjun Xing and Xue Feng are pleased to announce the birth of their first baby, Ai Tian Xing.  She was born on July 25, 2005, 8 lbs, 3 ounces and 52 cm.

SWNT research of graduate student Xue Feng featured in TempleTimes.
Presence of oxygen on carbon nanotubes enhances interaction with ammonia
SWNT(Single-walled Carbon Nanotube) research of graduate student Xue Feng is featured in Temple Times. It is also reported in Chemical and Engineering News.

Emerson International Scholar to join the Borguet group this summer!
Hai Le, an undergraduate student from Hartwick College, will also be joining the Borguet lab group this summer. Hai was awarded the Emerson International Internship Scholarship to research in the area of chemistry.

Three Diamond Scholars join the Borguet group!
This year, three recipients of the Temple University’s Diamond Research Scholarship program will be joining the Borguet lab group. These three undergraduate recipients are Allison Pymer, Kisher Vikaas, and Daniel Ritterbeck

Birth Announcement (Nikolay Dementev).
Graduate student, Nikolay Dementev is pleased to announce the birth of his first child, born on April 2005.
Nikolay joined in our group in August 2004.

Alumni Birth Announcement (Dora Bodlaki).
Group alumna, Dr. Dora Bodlaki-Peelen, and her husband Dr. Tim Peelan are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, Daniel Akos Peelen, born on 02-05-05 5AM.
Dora graduated with a Ph.D. from our group in 2003. She will be taking up a faculty position at Lebanon Valley College this Fall.
