However, our two cities share more than a name. Our \u201cPhiladelphias\u201d offer a wealth of historical and cultural sites that enhance understanding of cultural values, continuously provide support and services to our immigrant and refugee communities, and provide a unique backdrop for all who live, work and study.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/wp:cover --><!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"id\":1039,\"width\":\"318px\",\"height\":\"auto\",\"sizeSlug\":\"large\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\",\"className\":\"is-style-default\"} --><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/bettsummer2019\/files\/2019\/08\/BETT-Photo-2-2-1024x473.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":5} --><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Together with the\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: inherit\">Institute of International Education (<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 2.4rem;letter-spacing: -0.0415625em;text-align: inherit\"><strong>iie)<\/strong><\/strong><strong style=\"font-size: 2.4rem;letter-spacing: -0.0415625em;text-align: inherit\">,\u00a0<\/strong>the Government of Brazil, <strong style=\"font-size: 2.4rem;letter-spacing: -0.0415625em;text-align: inherit\">Temple University\u2019s Office of Global Engagement is pleased to host the\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 2.4rem;letter-spacing: -0.0415625em;text-align: inherit\">Brazilian English teachers at Temple University this summer (BETT)<span style=\"font-size: 2.4rem;letter-spacing: -0.0415625em\">.<\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:gallery {\"linkTo\":\"none\",\"align\":\"center\"} --><\/p>\n<figure><!-- wp:image {\"id\":678,\"sizeSlug\":\"full\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\"} -->\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.temple.edu\/jordanedusa\/files\/2023\/09\/cropped-20191024_skyline_009-High-Res-JPEG-300-DPI-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image --><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><!-- \/wp:gallery --><!-- wp:separator {\"className\":\"is-style-dots\"} --><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><!-- \/wp:separator --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} --><\/p>\n<h4>What is the Brazilian English teachers at Temple University?\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>This fully funded program, hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/global.temple.edu\/tcalc\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"global.temple.edu\/tcalc\">Temple&#8217;s Center for American Language and Culture<\/a> (TCALC), aims to support the Brazilian teachers, with comprehensive six-week BETT (Brazilian English Teachers at Temple) program to strengthen the participants\u2019 English, introduce new online and traditional teaching methodologies, familiarize teachers with technologies that can help students reach their learning goals, provide information on best practices for assessment and feedback, and most importantly, allow the teachers to \u201clive\u201d the teaching practices that we espouse by utilizing them as students of our program. Participants will benefit from the university\u2019s placement in Philadelphia, the second-largest city on the East Coast and the birthplace of America.
