Originally from Harleysville, Pa, Talia earned her B.S. in Biochemistry at Cedar Crest College where she worked on synthesizing naphthoquinones in Dr. Lindsey A. Welch’s group. In her free time Talia enjoys coaching/playing volleyball, hanging with her pets (Shanny and Calvin), watching silly movies, and reading!

Jasjit (Jassie) Kaur

Jassie is from Delaware County, PA. She received her B.S. in chemistry with a minor in philosophy from Drexel University where she performed undergraduate research in the lab of Dr. Hai-feng Ji. She also worked at the University of Pennsylvania in the lab of Dr. Marisa Kozlowski through an NSF REU where she worked on the synthesis of PAH molecules. Jassie is currently an NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Temple. In her free time Jassie likes to read and hang out with her two cats.

Santpreet Hira
Second Year

Santpreet is from the Bay Area of California. He received his double B.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Biopsychology from University of California, Davis. During his undergraduate, he worked for Jacquelyn Gervay-Hague working on the synthesis of DHEA derivatives for tea plants. He began his PhD at Oregon State University but shortly moved to Temple University with Dr Beaudry. Currently he is working on the total synthesis of aspidosperma alkaloids using transannular methods. In his free time, he likes to go to the gym and eat.

Sarah Herter

Sarah Herter is originally from Syracuse, NY and completed her B.S. In pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of the Sciences (now Saint Joseph’s University) in Philadelphia. There she conducted research with Dr. John Tomsho synthesizing borononucleosides for HIV treatment, and Dr. Jason Wallach synthesizing novel tryptamines.
Sarah is currently working on synthesis of differentially functionalized phenols and development of D3 a selective agonist.

Amira Garipov

Amira is from Montgomery County, PA. She is currently a chemistry and neuroscience double major at Temple University expected to graduate in 2026. She previously did research in Ross Wang’s lab at Temple and Dirk Trauner’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania. In her free time she likes to read, draw, bake, and try new food.
