DESCRIPTION:We are hosting our first Alumni Happy Hour of the new year on Wednesday\, January 27 @ 6:00-7:30 PM with Dr. Thomas Richards! Grab a drink and join the Barnes Club in welcoming Dr. Thomas Richards back to Temple for an informal conversation on researching\, writing\, navigating the job market both in and out of academia\, and more.\n\nA historian of the early Republic and the West\, Dr. Richards graduated from Temple in 2016 where he defended his dissertation titled “The Texas Moment: Breakaway Republics and Contested Sovereignty in North America\, 1836-1846.” That dissertation was published in 2020 as Breakaway Republics: The Unmanifest Future of Jacksonian United States by Johns Hopkins University Press. A former David J. Weber Fellow at the William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies and a McNeil Center Dissertation Fellow\, he is now an upper school history teacher at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia.\n\nZoom Link: https://temple.zoom.us/j/96694630551
