DESCRIPTION:Since November\, December\, and January often have many deadlines for fellowship applications and conference proposals (including our own Barnes Conference – deadline for proposals January 31)\, the Barnes Club will be hosting a workshop on applying to fellowships and drafting conference proposals with Dr. Alan McPherson and Dr. Peter Lavelle on Friday\, November 20 @ 5:00-6:00 PM over Zoom.  The Zoom link is provided below. DESCRIPTION:The Barnes Club will be hosting November’s Alumni Happy Hour on the first day back from Fall Break on Monday\, November 30 @ 5:30-7:00 PM with Dr. Carly Goodman. A historian of immigration\, Dr. Goodman graduated from Temple where\, in 2016\, she defended her dissertation titled “Global Game of Chance: The U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery\, Transnational Migration\, and Cultural Diplomacy in Africa\, 1990-2016.” She is now a Visiting Assistant Professor at La Salle University. In addition to her work as a professor\, she is also a co-editor and contributor for the Washington Post’s Made By History blog where leading historians offer commentary and analysis on today’s current events.\n\nPlease join the Barnes Club in welcoming Dr. Carly Goodman back to Temple for an informal conversation on researching\, writing\, navigating the job market both in and out of academia\, and more.
