Israel has reportedly developed new artificial intelligence technologies to gain an advantage in the War in Gaza. This article analyzes the ethical dilemmas of this new technology and the use of AI in war as a whole. The country has been using the War in Gaza to “test” new and artificially intelligent technologies – even if those tests result in civilian casualties. According to the article, in the past year and a half, Israel has combined AI with facial recognition software, used AI to compile potential airstrike targets, and created an Arabic-language AI model to power a chatbot that could scan and analyze text messages, social media posts and other Arabic-language data. This article provides an interesting insight on how AI is being used in modern warfare.
