A number of recent discoveries have highlighted the importance and intricacy of interactions between the nervous and immune systems, in healthy individuals across the life span and in individuals suffering damage or disease.  In our lab, we study how communication between the nervous and immune systems influences the cellular and molecular processes that give rise to memory.  We are currently focused on examining interactions of aging, immune dysregulation, BDNF biology and memory-related synaptic plasticity.
